Togo international dismisses whiskey, cigarette claims

Emmanuel Adebayor has dismissed suggestions he requested a whiskey and smoked a cigarette when discussing a contract offer at Lyon.

The claims, attributed by some outlets to Lyon coach Bruno Genesio, were invented by a satirical website in France.
And Adebayor, who is still without a club after Lyon opted to sign Jean-Philippe Mateta from Championnat National side Chateauroux instead, was keen to put the record straight.
In a statement, he said: "Usually I do not comment on any transfer negotiations or speculation but this time certain matters need to be cleared up.

The Police in Lagos State, have arrested a man, who claimed to be a trader,  for allegedly raping his 15 year-old daughter and administering drugs on her to prevent pregnancy.

The spokesperson of the state Police Command, SP Dolapo Badmos, confirmed the arrest to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday.
Badmos said that the Gender Unit of the command was investigating the suspect, Uchena Elumadu for a case of defilement.
She said that a neighbour, who resides at Martins Street, new Oko Oba, Agege Lagos, reported the case to the police.
She said that preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had on different occasions, raped the JSS 3 student who is his daughter.
The police image maker said that Elumadu usually administer drugs to prevent his victim from getting pregnant after having intercourse with her.
“The victim said that her father, on countless occasions wakes her up in the middle of the night to rape her, mostly when her mother is on night duty.
“The mother is a casual worker in one of the outfits attached to airport.
“On the night of Sept. 19, the mother discovered the suspect having intercourse with the victim and raised the alarm and one of their neighbours reported the case to the police,” Badmos said.
She said the victim had been admitted at the Police Cottage Hospital, Ikeja Police College, where she is receiving treatment in partnership with Mirabel Centre LASUTH.
The spokesperson said that medical examination was being carried out on the victim.

Bag snatcher stripped, beaten in Abuja [Photo]

A man has been given a taste of jungle justice after snatching a woman's handbag in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja.

The incident took place in the morning on Thursday, September 22, at the SDP junction in the area.
According to an eyewitness, the man identified only as Daniel, trailed the unidentified victim who had a baby strapped to her back on a motorcycle after leaving the bank.
Immediately she got off the bike, Daniel snatched the handbag and took to his heels. Unfortunately for him, a group of motorcyclists chased him down and apprehended him, tearing off his clothes and giving him the beating of his life.
“Some motorcyclists went after him, caught him and started beating him. They removed his clothes and left him on the ground," the eyewitness said

Traders, not IPOB, behind Abakaliki protest – Police says

The Ebonyi Police Command on Friday said that the protest at Abakaliki was not carried out by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) but by traders and artisans at the Mechanic Village.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that IPOB had ordered people in the South East Zone to observe a sit-at -home action on Friday in support of their demand for self actualisation.
But Mr George Okafor, the Police Public Relations Officer, told NAN that the Force ensured that no IPOB protest was carried out in the state.
“We are in touch with our divisions across the state and can confirm that the state is peaceful with people going about their businesses.
“We only witnessed disturbances at the auto mobile village in Abakaliki where traders and artisans protested over alleged discrepancies in the levies stipulated by the state government,” he said.
The spokesman said that the command had deployed officers to the area in order to restore normalcy.
“The traders were protesting that their leaders connived with the contractors hired by the government to defraud them and will only pay directly to the government through a designated account.
“They were unruly; they damaged police vehicles, injured some of our officers but we are unrelenting in ensuring that calm returns to the area.
“Their officers tried to pacify them but they continued being unruly, insisting that their arrested members must be released before they conduct themselves peacefully.
“This made us to use tear-gas to disperse them and the market would only be re-opened when normalcy returns to the area,” he said.
Mr Rapheal Ugo, Vice Chairman of the market’s Amalgamated Union, condemned the action, noting that traders in a section of the market instigated the crisis.
“It is only traders and artisans at the ‘A’ Line area that refused to pay the levies despite efforts made by others to make them pay.
“Those who perpetrated the act could have considered the economic consequences on the generality of members as we will cooperate with the police in restoring order to the market,” he said.
A NAN correspondent, who monitored the development, reports that Abakaliki and surrounding cities were calm with citizens going about their normal businesses.
Government and private offices remained open while markets and business centres among others opened for daily activities without molestation.

'I'm a virgin' - Nigerian cross dresser Bayo reveals in open letter + new photos

Nigerian cross dresser Bayo who we have previously reported on, (read here) has come out with some hot new photos and has written a heartfelt open letter to the public and most especially his haters. In the letter given to LIB, he revealed to the public that he's still a virgin and has no tolerance for homophobic people. Read the full letter after the cut...

'My life is fairly bland, but it belongs to me, I'm not popular but my friends are more than enough, saying and doing what I want and when I want. I can hide my emotions better than anyone I know. I fight, face and destroy, standing up for what I believe in. I have no tolerance for rude, racist and homophobic people.'
' I won't admit my faults but I do know I make mistakes, I am the sunrise after a sleepless night blinding your eyes. If we acknowledge that physical appearance is your primary scale value, we have to acknowledge and respect everyone's choice in life as equals because if everyone is beautiful or everyone can be beautiful or everyone is beautiful to someone it's okay to base our entire civilization on hot or Not.'
'I'm a virgin... I am one of a kind that's me, I am quite a find with a mix of colour in my hair, a twinkle in my eyes, oh don't you see? I can catch a ball and perform talents because I know I got greatness within me.'
'I can dance a jig and still do a dab, watch me learn and watch me grow. I can act, Did you know? I am unique and wonderful , I am simply Me. I don't care what you say about me, its just that you are not as good as me.'

I am a model, Did you know? There is a better way of looking at your critics .Tell them you are not who they say you are but you are what you are. I want to go out with my head erect.'
'I want to deserve all men's respect, I want to be able to title myself now to everyone out there. say to yourselves "I am the best" I am legend. Remember "CONFESSION is POSSESSION.

Dear Romeo I am no Juliet, I am simply Me......BAYO. Anyone who can't see the good in me, I am hugging them right now because I know its quite difficult being blind....! '
