Efe new HOH bravo bros

Day 9: Confusion reigns

Chaos reigns supreme in the House as Efe usurps the HoH crown
31 January 12:32
It was inevitable that there was going to be some fallout from everything that has been happening in the House. Tensions had been building in the House after the Fake Evictions, with the Housemates starting to realise that they were now in a game and that the stakes were high. Debie-Rise had an explosive introduction to the House when she was chosen as the House Joker. Part of her function was to sew the seeds of discontent with Biggie giving her two Secret Tasks to fulfill. Namely, to find the Igwe's secret black book diary, which was filled with Biggie's instructions to create conflict in the House and to stage a coup d'etat
Miyonse and Soma were up for Eviction along with Efe, who had been replaced with Gifty by Igwe. It added to the genral explosive atmosphere in the House. Efe took the initiative and along with his cohorts. ThinTallTony, Bisola and Debie-Rise, managed to obtain the key and powered by Section 8 0f Big Brother's rule book, took the Igwe crown which CoCoIce had left unattended and usurped the Igwe crown to possibly become the new Head of House. Chaos and confusion reigned in the House from thereon in with spats flaring up between Bisola and CoCoIce with CoCoIce feeling betrayed. Bisola eplaing that "I followed the instructions of Big Brother!"

Who knew Gifty of Big Brother Naija was married?

Gifty and her fellow male contestants in the Big Brother Naija house
One of the most ‘friendly’ contestants in the house, the Anambra state born model and actress and her husband Soro reportedly got married in 2014. This is surprising because many feel her antics in the house are not expected from a married woman.
Just like in the photo above, she has openly flirted with her fellow male contestants. In fact, it was the way she rushed to new housemate Bassey's side that made many become private investigators about her life before BBN.

Who would you save? Big Brother Naija

Although we all knew it prior that this week's nomination was a twist, Biggie went ahead to ask housemates to present their nominated housemates. Each housemate had 45 seconds to give Biggie housemates he/she liked most in the house. At the end of this exercise, ThinTallTony, Uriel and Efe each got four votes each while CoCoIce and Bally got none.
Biggie then announced that housemates CoCoIce, Kemen, Bally, Tboss and Miyonse were nominated but HOH Uriel was asked whether she could save one housemate something that she agreed to. She saved Miyonse 'chef' and replaced him with a shocked Marvis.
Below is how housemates Nominated
Cocoice ------------Uriel and Bisola
Kemen -------------Marvis and ThinTallTony
ThinTallTony ----- Efe and Marvis.
Uriel ---------------- Soma and Bally
Gifty----------------- Uriel and ThinTallTony
Marvis --------------- Kemen and Efe
Bally ------------------ Uriel and Efe
Bisola ----------------- Efe and ThinTallTony
TBoss------------------ Miyonse and Bisola
Efe ----------------------Marvis and ThinTallTony
Soma--------------------Gifty and Uriel
Miyonse -----------------Soma and TBoss

According to the results, housemates with fewer votes, that is, TBoss, Cocoice,  Kemen, Miyonse, Bally were nominated for possible eviction but the HOH saved Miyonse and replaced him with Marvis.

So, the nominated housemates were: TBoss, Cocoice,  Kemen, Marvis, Bally

Gambia’s Neighbors Reportedly Prepare Troops to Oust Brutal and Bizarre Dictator

But President Jammeh is ‘digging in for a long fight.’

While the world braces for President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, another inauguration in West Africa has regional leaders worried: Gambia’s. West African countries are reportedly preparing for a military intervention in Gambia if President Yahya Jammeh refuses to step down on Thursday, the day that his successor Adama Barrow was scheduled to take office.
Jammeh, who initially conceded the election to Barrow in a surprise defeat in December, has since reneged his offer to step down, and may be preparing for a fight to stay in office. On Tuesday, Jammeh, who has ruled the tiny and impoverished Gambia for over two decades, declared a state of national emergency in light of what he called “the unprecedented and extraordinary amount of foreign interference” in the Dec. 1 election he lost.
The state of emergency puts the country on lockdown, banning “acts of disobedience” and “acts intended to disturb the public order.” He’s also shored up power in the country’s supreme court and national assembly, which are considered mere extensions of the one-man regime. “Jammeh is digging in for a long fight here,” Gambia expert Jeffrey Smith told Foreign Policy.
There may be will in neighboring countries to send in troops to remove him by force. Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) members, including Nigeria and Gambia’s neighbor Senegal, are reportedly preparing troops. On Tuesday, Nigeria deployed a warship off the coast of Gambia. A source in the Nigerian military told Reuters his country and other West African countries were readying for military action.
And any fight may not last as long as Jammeh hopes. His country’s tiny military likely wouldn’t fare well in a fight with neighboring militaries, Smith said — if it even fought at all. “The rank and file troops don’t support [Jammeh],” Smith said. “His firm grip on security forces is exaggerated.”
Reading the tea leaves, three of Jammeh’s ministers, including his foreign minister, resigned and thousands of Gambians have fled to Senegal and nearby Guinea-Bissau in expectation of a violent showdown.
Jammeh’s ouster could relieve West Africa of one of its most problematic, violent, and bizarre dictators. Jammeh, who’s led state-sanctioned witch hunts, claims he can cure AIDS, and lists “Admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska” on his official resume, is is a black mark on West Africa’s economic and political success.
“He’s not your average president — African or otherwise,” Smith said.

Teacher Pregnant by Student Gets 10 Years in Jail

HOUSTON (AP) - A Houston-area middle school English teacher was sentenced Friday to 10 years in prison for having a long-term sexual relationship with a 13-year-old student who impregnated her.
Alexandria Vera, 24, pleaded guilty last year to aggravated sexual assault of a child and was hoping to avoid prison and just get probation.
State District Judge Michael McSpadden said his sentence was intended to send a message and make an example of her because he's aware of too many similar cases.
"We want our educators to teach our students," the judge said. "We want them to keep their hands off the students."
